4 Aspects Work Place Mentoring Makes You Rich

Hello, My name is David, and my 18 years (and counting) of Sales Experience has taught me that Work Place Mentoring will make YOU More Money and will impact 4 aspects of your life.

One thing you should never do in Life is to STOP Learning. When you do - you become complacent, lethargic and you will not maintain your current status - you will actually to start declining or regressing. Work Place Mentoring will ensure that you will always improve and hone your skills as a Sales Professional or any field for that matter. You could also call it Partnership Learning and it is a cyclical relationship, whether your the men tee or mentor the daily communication about sales that are made or not made and feedback from each other actually makes you better prepared in your next sales opportunity (I use Sales because that's what I know, It can be any Career). I always Identified the Top Sales Person and made friends with them - because they make the most money and that's why I am there to MAKE MONEY. Having the Top Sales Person as a Mentor will produce the Riches everyone is looking for. Here are the 4 aspects that Work Place Mentoring makes YOU Rich:

  1. Production

  2. Sales

  3. Commissions

  4. Quality of Life

Some of these seem redundant and though they are linked, the are independent from each other in a Sales Career.

Production is not only the end result of many sales - it is the results of everything leading up to the sale. The Prospecting, the Pitch, the Follow Up, the Close, then the Sale, the Customer Service Follow Up and Referrals. Those are the basics your Mentor has (or should) have down to science as it applies to the Company procedures. Now because you want to make the big bucks like the top producers, and you wisely selected a top producer as a work place mentor - You WILL (and should ) copy what He or She does to produce those results. Without a doubt to produce top numbers your mentor is doing all the little things leading up to the sale and doing them well.

Sales will increase immediately by having a work place mentor because your are "learning the ropes" in a more practical manner than a training manual and your not floundering about trying to figure it out on your own. Trust me I have wasted plenty of time and energy trying to figure out what to do at my new company when I make a sale or in the process of, which has kept me from making more sales because of the time it took to complete one sale. Your mentor will know what in the "training manual" is actually important in completing the sale saving you time which can be used on the next sales opportunity.

Obviously with increased sales your Commissions will increase and you make more money, but more than that - with Partnership Learning you will pick up details or techniques from one another you can use in another sales opportunity to make that sale and will usually yield a Higher Commission. Making the maximum per sale is the goal of every sales person and with work place mentoring those opportunities will present themselves sooner rather than later.

Finally, Quality of Life - This is a big one for me because it also carries over into your home life, and is just as important as making money. Especially if you are just starting out at a new company, Finding out Who the Top Sales Person IS and making him/her your Friend will make a huge impression on your new bosses. Top Producers already have the respect and appreciation of their bosses, by association you will benefit from this. When management sees that you're trying to be the best by learning from the best, you will receive more Help, more Latitude, and more Sales as a result. I don't know about you but if my bosses are making my life easier at work then my life is automatically better at home.

Those are the 4 aspects work place mentoring makes you rich - in your pocket and in life. Obviously those are not the only aspects it impacts there is also Competition but I have posted about that on my other blog on the hyperlink above.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoyed this post and it helped in some capacity. Please let me know how I am doing. Also if you're an NFL Fan checkout my Chicago Bears Mock Draft and Free Agency Moves.

#1 Sales Objective When Starting A New Job

Hello my name is David, my 18 years and

The #1 objective a professional sales person should have when starting a new job is.....

Identify Who the Top Sales Person IS and MAKE Him/Her a Friend

I call this my 1st sale - before my 1st sale. I was fortunate enough to learn this very early in my Sales Career and make it my #1 sales objective anytime I started at a new company. To some this my seem overtly obvious, so why doesn't every sales person make it their 1st objective? I don't know, maybe it's fear because we know sales people aren't shy in meeting new people.

This became my 1st sales objective because the only way to be the best is to learn from the best - Then you have to Beat the Best. Having a mentor that is the best or the top sales person at your new company will increase your production, sales, commissions, and it will improve your Quality of Life. I will elaborate on the Value of a Mentor in another post, but for now take action and change whatever YOUR #1 sales objective is (If you have one, I hope so) to: Identify Who the Top Sales Person is and MAKE Him/Her a Friend. This will make you more money in a shorter amount of time, for a longer amount of time and we all want that. I hope you know by now that "Practice makes Perfect"....... WRONG!

Perfect Practice Makes Perfect

Thanks, I hope you enjoyed the sales tip, and check out my post on the Value of a Mentor. I will be sharing and updating my sales objectives, tips, and experience on a daily basis let me know how I am doing.
